NEWS Many thanks to all those who participated in the very successful MMR2007 conference. A slideshow (6726.4 KB | 04.07.07) was presented at the end of the conference and can be played with Windows Media Player.
The Department of Management Science, Strathclyde University is hosting the Fifth International Mathematical Methods in Reliability (MMR) Conference, 1-4 July 2007 at the University of Strathclyde on its city centre campus in Glasgow, Scotland.
The MMR conferences serve as a forum for discussing fundamental issues on mathematical methods in reliability theory and its applications. It is a forum that brings together mathematicians, probabilists, statisticians, and computer scientists from within a central focus on reliability.
Keynote speakers:
- Olivier Gaudoin (INP, Grenoble) "Conditionally independent generalized competing risks for maintenance analysis"
- Helge Langseth (NTNU, Trondheim) "Bayesian Networks in Reliability"
- Jim MacDonald (Strathclyde University, Glasgow) "New reliability assessment challenges in advanced engineering systems"
- Vijay Nair (Michigan) "Reliability Inference and Predictive Maintenance with Degradation Data"
- Mikhail Nikulin (University Victor Segalen, Bordeaux) "Statistical methods to analyze failures, wear and degradation with applications to accelerated testing and quality control: An engineering perspective in statistics of accelerated experiments"
- Fabrizio Ruggeri (CNR IMATI, Milan) "Advances in Bayesian software reliability modelling"
- Alex Whitmore (McGill, Montreal) "Disaster Risk Management: An Application of Reliability Principles"
- Min Xie (NUS, Singapore) "Statistical process control approaches for reliability and maintenance modelling"

In collaboration with ENBIS a reliability workshop is being held on the afternoon of 1 July 2007. Separate registration is required for this, but is free of charge for PhD students. See the ENBIS workshop page for more details.
The MMR2007 conference fee (includes; conference papers, buffet lunch, tea and coffee and conference dinner) is £250, with a reduction to £200 for students in full time higher education.
For further enquiries about the draft conference programme contact the local organisers at info@mmr2007.org
The MMR conference is supported by ScottishPower, ENBIS, the Royal Statistical Society and University of Strathclyde.
